The Hautes-Alpes has established itself as an all year round centre for mountain sports and leisure. It has excellent terrain and facilities for a variety of sports. We have picked a few of the more popular activities below to provide you with some ideas about what can be found in the area. |

Walking and Wildlife |
|
If walking is your passion, then from spring through to autumn the Hautes-Alpes region is a walker's paradise. This relatively unknown area of the Alps will allow you to enjoy wonderfully peaceful walks and the opportunity to see the National Park wildlife close up.

Via Ferrata |
|
Via ferrata allows you to gain access to unbelievable steep mountain faces without needing to be an expert mountaineer. Via ferratas can be done with a guide or unaccompanied for the experienced. If you have never done one before then this is an experience you will never forget.

Mountain Biking |
|
Every kind of mountain biking is catered for in the Hautes-Alpes. With 1000km of trails at all levels for the cross-country rider and ski-station lift systems accessible for the extreme downhill rider. International events and festivals are held here from the spring to the autumn.

Ski and Snowboard |
|
Spectacular winter sports facilities are within easy reach of all of our apartments with six separate ski resorts being within 30 minutes drive. Don't forget that the winter is not just for alpine skiing and boarding. We have facilities and terrain perfect for cross country skiing, backcountry sking, boarding, walking on snowshoes and for the young or young at heart some great sledging locations.

Climbing |
|
The area provides an enormous variety of climbing from alpine mountaineering routes to bolted single and multi-pitch crag climbing and bouldering on every type of rock. This area is also a centre for winter ice climbing and is renowned for the incredible quality and reliability of the ice routes.

Ice Climbing |
|
The Briançonnais is one of the best regions in Europe for ice climbing. There are more than 250 waterfalls from 20 to 700 m in height which freeze each winter to create an amazing playground for the worlds ice climbers.

Watersports and Alpine white water |
|
From early April and into the long, hot summers the sun shines down from a brilliantly blue sky melting the glacial ice and snow from the high mountains and producing fantastic alpine white water. This melt water provides the area with some of the best wild rivers in Europe and offers white-water activities for everybody no matter what their ability.

Canyoning |
|
Canyoning allows you to descend the route of a river and its waterfalls as they flow down the mountain. With a combination of caving, climbing, swimming and sliding you make you exhilarating, but controlled descent. Canyons can be done with a guide or unaccompanied for the experienced.

Road Biking |
|
A world centre for road biking, the Hautes-Alpes offers incredibly challenging and beautiful terrain for the enthusiastic cyclist.
